Can I Borrow your Broom?

This afternoon, the Rangers swept away the Astros, taking every game in the 3-game series at the Palace in Dallas by a combined score of 27-6. That, my friends, is sheer, utter domination!

Yesterday, in a game for the ages, the Rangers hit a franchise-record 8 home runs to win 18-3. By the end of the 2nd inning yesterday, the Rangers led 10-0 with 5 home runs.

With the sweep, the Rangers advance to 24-20 on the season and reach a high-water mark for the season at 4 games over .500.

The Angels, currently leading the Rangers by 2 games (and currently winning at Chavez Ravine by two in the 2nd inning) were dealt a blow on Friday night when Vladimir Guerrero injured his shoulder on a slide. He was placed on the 15 day Disabled List yesterday.

Frankly, the Angels line-up, minus Guerrero, will strike fear in no one. Steve Finley is beginning to show his age and Garret Anderson is a gap hitter. Otherwise, they have a lineup of "Punching Judy's" and now is the time for the Rangers to make up some ground.

The Rangers have the limping Kansas City Royals coming to the ballpark on Tuesday for a 3-game set. Now is the time to make a move.

In the mean time, it was a great weekend to sweep away the in-state rival Astros!
