Anatomy of a Perfect Homestand

Ben Shpigel's article in today's sports section of the Dallas Morning News highlights the anatomy of a perfect, 8-0 homestand for the Rangers. Check out these impressive numbers:

*For the first time in franchise history, Ranger starting pitchers won eight consecutive games, posting an ERA of 2.42.

*Chan Ho Park defeated two of baseball's best starting pitchers -- Jon Garland and Roy Oswalt -- in his two starts during the homestand.

*Richard Hidalgo, hitting out of the 8th hole, went 12-for-26 with 5 homers and 8 RBIs.

*The Rangers outscored their opponents 64-19.

*The Ranger offense exploded for 24 homers and 40 extra-base hits, hitting .322.

The hottest team in baseball takes their act on the road, beginning a two-week road trip tomorrow in Detroit. The Gambler, Ryan Drese and Chris Young are slated to start the three games in Detroit.

What a marvelous Sunday yesterday at the Village. The worship was inspiring, honoring the sacrifice of Jesus. The communion was meaningful, honoring the memory of the Savior's loving sacrifice. The message by Tim was convicting, reminding us of the awesome price of freedom -- the price of freedom is the price of blood, both nationally and spiritually.
