Be Strong and Courageous and Do Not Be Afraid

Just as the heartland won the Presidential Election for W, the Heartland will win the American Idol competition for Carrie.

The Rangers are within a game of tying the Angels. Richard Hidalgo busted out last night with a 2-homer performance and Ryan Drese was solid in his start. Tonight, the Rangers send Pedro Astacio to the mound, pitching once again for his spot in the rotation. With juggling Drese and Astacio in the rotation, everything is set up for Ricardo Rodriguez to join the team following Astacio's next weak start. RicRod would be perfectly situated in the rotation between Drese and the Gambler.

For any Ranger fans that tire of listening to Josh Lewin call a game, have you ever been forced to sit through Steve Physioc and Rex Hudler, announcers for the Angels? I have watched the Angels/White Sox the last two nights on my MLB Extra Innings package on Dish and those guys are painful to listen to. Overstatement. Overdramatization. Overkill.

Did you know in the Bible there are 365 reasons for us to fear not? 365 times, Scripture calls on us "not to be afraid," offering solid spiritual reason why we can be courageous in the face of our fears.

In 2 Corinthians 1.8-9, Paul emphatically says that all fear is designed to serve one purpose: "to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead."

Think about it...if I deeply trust a God who is able to raise the dead, why in the world should I fear financial distress? Why should I fear success or failure? Why should I fear the response of my neighbors to an invitation to hear the good news? Why should I fear death?

Faith, in the face of fear, is ample ammunition to live today strong and courageous and fearless!
