Chris Young...Wow! The win streak reached 7 last night with a comfortable 6-2 victory over the White Sox. Soriano twice, Teixeira and Michael Young all went deep. The only bummer is the Royals were leading the Angels 8-3 in the 9th when I gave up on baseball and took up reading. Somehow (only against the Royals) the Angels managed 5 in the 9th and 1 in the 10th to win 9-8. Still a deadlock at the top.
The good news is, it is Memorial Day weekend and the AL West is already down to a 2-team race.

Tomorrow, the Village people will be blessed to hear from State Senator Tim Wooldridge of Paragould, Arkansas. Tim is a good friend and a candidate for the Lt. Governor's race in 2006. Tim always brings an inspiring, dynamic message from God when he is with us.

The Spiritual Formation trend has one clear purpose to me: To dissolve the separation that exists in contemporary preaching circles between justification and sanctification. I have taught the separation -- that it is being "in Christ" that saves, not being "like Christ." Somehow in communicating that, the impression has been left that maybe being "like Christ" is not too important.
It is!
Being like Christ is the visible fruit (the works of James 2) that verifies a person is in Christ (the faith of James 2). I appreciate the renewed call of Spiritual Formation to develop disciples into Christlikeness.
