Tahoe Traditions

After busting out the Tahoe air quality, I must admit that it has been exquisitely beautiful the last two days.

With the girls back in Arkansas, I have been blessed by the companionship of Brian Buce this week during the encampment. Brian is a member at Woodward Park and an active part of our Deaf Ministry.

Today, Brian and I enjoyed lunch with Jimmie Jones's family on the patio overlooking the lake. That is a seven-year tradition for us and is an event that really makes Tahoe special!

Hey Erick, Heidi, Macee and Colton: It wasn't the same without you there tonight at the campfire. The usual suspects were there, with the notable absence of you guys. We're missing you.

Being at Tahoe this week got me thinking today about extracurricular church activities (lectureships, workshops, seminars, encampments, etc.). In your personal experience, what was the most memorable, meaningful extracurricular event you've attended? What made that particular event to memorable?

Share with me your story at jim@wpcoc.com

"The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40.28-31).
